The Best Museums for Free!

Mommy & Daddy are feeling more and more lucky that we live in the D.C. area and have infinite exposure and opportunity to visit all of the museums in D.C. The best part? It’s all for FREE!

A few weeks ago, Mommy and Daddy took me to the Museum of Natural History again. It was great because Mommy was able to come with us and enjoy the free museums of D.C. It had been probably 10+ years since Mommy has gone into the Museum of Natural History so everything seemed like it had been renovated.

The cool thing we discovered is that there are impromptu lessons about natural history given by museum curators geared towards kids. The curators have a cart of their “supplies” and just position themselves in the walkways of the exhibits and will start teaching anyone about their subject. I surprised Mommy because I actually listened to one of the curators talk for about 15 minutes about using clues in skulls to determine how a vertebrae walks. Mommy was happy I could focus for that long.

We also visit a “Discovery Room” for kids where there are items for kids to explore. This is where I met an alligator up close.

I also discovered other cool things such as bear feet and an skeleton.

My Bold & Brave Daddy

It was a beautiful sunny day in DC today and Daddy couldn’t resist taking me on a new adventure.

Mommy had to attend an all-day conference today, so Daddy was bold enough to take me into DC all by himself to entertain me for about 3 hours.  Daddy was lucky enough to find street parking very close to the Washington Monument.  Check out my rides:

We circled around the Washington Monument long enough for Daddy to snap a few photos and to send one to Mommy while she was at her conference.  She had no idea what we were up to all day until Daddy sent over the photo!

Daddy also took me to my first museums, the American History Museum and the Natural History Museum.  I liked looking at new things, but of course, I had no idea what I am looking at.

I can’t wait for the warmer weather so Mommy & Daddy can take me to the zoo.
