Uh-Oh! I Might Be Following in Aunt Gi’s Footsteps!

The day after Christmas, we went to YiMa and YiGong’s house for dinner again and Mommy was beside herself when she saw YiGong offer me a can of Coke, but she is even more surprised to see that I actually liked the can of Coke and was going through the motion of trying to drink it.

See me in action:

Oh, no!  Mommy hopes I’m not developing an addiction to Coke like Aunt Gi.

Of course, Mommy rationalized that I probably liked the Coke because it was refrigerated and the cooling sensation felt good against my gums.  Also the Coke can is bright red…which also stimulates my eyes.  Yes, Mommy, just keep telling yourself that’s why I like Coke…the colors and the cooling sensation.

My First Cold.

So everyone in our house is sick.

Mommy thinks it all started with our nanny, but the nanny thinks that it started from me.  It’s the old chicken and egg debate.  In any case, now, everyone’s got it in varying degrees.  For me, it’s the first time I’m giving my immune system a full work-out.  I have bad nasal congestion to the point where Mommy had to use the Graco nasal suction on several occasions to pull out my boogers.  The boogers are thick and slimy…not easy for me to get rid of, especially when I can’t really blow my nose.  What I have is nothing compared to what Daddy has.  Daddy is VERY sick.  He has been in bed all day, but I managed to get him to smile at me before Mommy put me to bed tonight.  Mommy had to take me out to YiMa’s house so that Daddy could sleep.  Mommy has it the least severe with only a sore throat.  It’s probably because Mommy got the flu shot last week and has been taking Cold-Eeze like it’s candy.

See, Daddy?  You should have gotten the flu shot last week when Mommy told you to.
