The Wonderful World of Pureed Food

I’ve developed a bigger appetite and I now know to open my mouth WIDE when someone puts a spoonful of food in front of me.  Mommy & Daddy ventured to Whole Foods again and bought me some more organic foods:

  1. Zucchini: $1.08 (new green food to try)
  2. Sweet Potato: $1.15 (tried it and loved it)
  3. Fuji Apple: $2.28 (tried it and kinda loved it)
  4. Baby Broccoli: $3.49 (new green food to try)
  5. Stonefield YoBaby plain yogurt made from whole milk:  $3.99  (probably every baby in the U.S. eats & loves this!)

Here’s how Mommy processes my food.  Take the broccoli for example.

Mommy uses only the florets of the broccoli and steams it.

Then Mommy puts the florets in the VitaMix blender which is also one of Daddy’s most prized possessions.

After it is fully pureed, Mommy puts it in Baby Cubes to store in the refrigerator.  So, $3.49 worth of broccoli gets me these two 2.5 ounces of pureed green food.  It’s certainly not cheaper than Earth’s Best jarred baby food, but at least Mommy & Daddy take pride in making the food for me.

The pureed stuff then gets fed to me.  You can see just how much I love this green stuff.  Yeah, right!  Mommy has learned to “hide” it in the yogurt so I would eat it.  Yes, you read correctly — broccoli-flavored yogurt.  Even Mommy had to admit that it tastes a little bit yucky, but for me, well, I don’t know any different…yet!
