My First Fever

I woke up today rather warm and red.  Mommy took out her ear thermometer and found that I had a temperature of 102.0 degrees F.  Since I was born, I’ve never had a fever, so this was a bit worrisome.  It didn’t matter that Mommy is a doctor because Mommy isn’t a pediatrician, so she called the Kaiser advice line.

After doses of Children’s Advil, the fever would subside, but would creep back up near the time of my next dose.  As the day progressed, the fever got worse and went as high as 103.5.   At that point, Mommy called Kaiser again and this time, we were told to go to Urgent Care.  After 2.5 hours in Urgent Care, we were reassured that:

1.  I don’t have Strep throat.

2.  I don’t have an ear infection.

3.  I don’t have respiratory compromise.

4.  I have two ears full of ear wax which was cleared after 2 treatments.  (I squirmed, screamed and tried to fight these treatments, but Mommy & Daddy held me down.)

5.  I have a viral infection and my body has to fight the infection.

All in all, it was good use of $20 because it bought us some reassurance.  I’ve continued to take the Advil and hopefully, I’ll feel better tomorrow.

Stay tuned…

Chore #5.

I’ve tried many, many times to walk Bossie, but have always ran into hurdles. First, the handle of the leash would be too big for me to hold. Then, I couldn’t hold the handle for a long time because it was too heavy for my little hands. Then, I didn’t understand that I had walk in order for Bossie to follow me. Then, I didn’t realize that I had to walk straight rather than in circles.

This Sunday, I finally mastered the art of walking Bossie. See me in action:

I walked all the way down the Sandburg Street hill to Aunt Jo’s house and then walked all the way home. I even started to huff and puff walking uphill. It was quite a work-out.
