My 2nd Facepainting

So a few weeks ago, Mommy & Daddy took me to Silver Diner to try out their Tuesday Family Fun night.  It happened to be the week before Halloween, so they had a face painter there.  Mr. Knick Knack who regularly plays at the Tysons Corner playgrounds was also there.  Mommy & Daddy didn’t really let me know that there was facepainting, but I took one look at the other kids there and I realized that there was facepainting, so I asked in Mandarin, “Can I get my face painted?”  Mommy & Daddy were stunned at my observation and took me to the facepainter.

Like all facepainters, there was a book of paintings from which I made a selection.  Mommy kept trying to get me to pick a tiger or something which involves less paint, but I saw the face-all-red Spiderman and I knew that was it!  I was good and sat through the entire painting again.

Here I am checking myself out using the new iPhone:

No more than 5 minutes after this video was taken, I really smeared my fingers all over my still-wet face, so I really messed up my Spiderman.  Daddy had no choice but to take me to the bathroom to wash all of it off.

So long, Spiderman!

By the way, this is the first time that I finished a kid’s meal by myself.  My dinner was a veggie slider burger, strawberries, and chocolate milk!

First “Real” Haircut by Mommy

At the rate my hair grows, my last haircut in NYC 2 months ago seems like eons ago.  Because our next trip to NYC probably won’t be until Christmas, Mommy had to take matters into her own hands and give me a haircut.  I think I’ve shown some maturity these past few weeks, enough that Mommy thought she could try to give me a haircut with a clipper.  Yes, the dreaded clipper.  The clipper that made me cry my eyes out at the barber in NYC.  Mommy & Daddy were prepared this time.  They brought out “Lion King” on the IPad and they kept prepping me for the big event all day long.  Mommy & Daddy have discovered that prepping me helps tremendously.  I, like most people, like to be notified of impending change.

Here I am…finally NOT crying during a haircut!
