Mommy doesn’t have nearly as many toys as Daddy, but after taking care of me for 3 months, Mommy realized that there are some crucial investments that she can’t live without. Here is the cool list of “must-haves” so far and a couple for the future:
1. Monte Lucas Glider & Ottoman
This glider was recommended by Auntie Gi and Mommy absolutely fell in love with it when she sat in it at Aunt Gi’s house. It’s modern and unlike the usual mission-style gliders. Both the chair and ottoman have a gentle glide. The best part is that you can custom pick the color of the microfiber fabric for the chair and the piping. Mommy has charcoal (as shown in the above picture) with black piping. Mommy pumps milk and feeds me while sitting in this chair.
2. Miracle Blanket
Auntie Janifer gave this to me before I was born and said that it will prevent me from “scaring and startling” myself while I sleep. How true! This blanket keeps my arms secure while keeping my body in a tight swaddle. I never sleep at night without this!
3. Medela Freestyle Breast Pump
This is the best breast pump ever! Mommy credits this machine for giving her adequate milk supply. Not only is it portable, light-weight and hands-free, it pumps on both sides simultaneously. Mommy can pump milk while walking around the house doing other things. At work, Mommy can type her patient notes while pumping.
4. Avent iQ Bottle Warmer
This small warmer is a space saver and warms my milk perfectly. It has three setting for the temperature of milk being placed in the warmer (room temperature, refrigerated, frozen) and another panel to enter the volume of the milk. It’s very user friendly.
5. Baby Bjorn
Thanks to Auntie Eunice for giving this to me. It is an absolutely necessity when we go out. It keeps Mommy’s hands free and I can also feel like I’m being held. I can be facing in or out while being carried in this. The top flap also folds down when I have enough neck support.
6. Zo-Li On-The-Go Travel Formula & Snack Dispenser
Even though I haven’t started eating solid yet, Mommy got this for me in antipation of the big day. This seems like a neat design and very compact for storage purposes. The top compartment can dispense liquids.
7. Snack Trap
Again, it’s Mommy preparing me for the day when I can eat solids. A similar container was first introduced to Mommy by Auntie Gi. The unique lid allows my little fingers to reach in and get the goodies out while preventing me from spilling the whole thing. Mommy got me one with a cow design and one with a dinosaur design. The non-economical side of buying this container is that the lid and straps are sold separately.
Once I start to play, I’ll come up with a list of my favorite toys. Stay tuned.
